Loving-Kindness

Greetings to you all!
Loving-kindness benefits both parties. The giver and the receiver. Many times I think the giver is even more blessed than the one receiving the love. My mom is a diabetic that recently had to have her toe taken off and she has had issues with depression. As soon as she was able to get back on her feet the dr. suggested volunteering at the hospital. This made me think of the loving-kindness. It feels good to help someone out.
My experience with the loving-kindness mp3 was not for me. I got tired of it really fast. Whenever I think of my loved ones that are having difficulties, I pray for them. God is still in the miracle-working business and it has nothing to do with me. All of our actions and words should be based on love. Our heart should respond to all situations with loving-kindness. I don't think that I would recommend it to anyone because I think they would get bored really fast and I don't believe that this method is beneficial.
A mental workout entails making a conscious effort to turn our minds towards human flourishing. Everyday we have a choice regarding thinking positive or negative. Things that we dwell on such as loving-kindness become second nature. This is true in so many ways. The thoughts that a person has will eventually come out unless we focus our minds and retrain them. Mental workouts are great for relaxation and for us to become aware of and practice the mind's capabilities. My personal experience that works for me is to pray. This does involve loving-kindness because that is what God entails and therefore all my choices should have the basis of love.

Relaxation procedure....getting myself to optimal health

Hi everyone!

I do believe that I rate myself at a 9 for my optimal well-being. I think that I could improve on exercising and controlling my thoughts but I feel great for the most part. My time management skills do need some improvement though. I am a positive person that always finds the silver lining in most circumstances so I think this puts me in a good mental state of mind. I don't get offended easily because I choose not to even if someone is trying to say something mean to me. I figure it will hurt them more than it will me because I don't want to carry that burden around. A goal for the physical aspect of my life is to run or work out every morning. Spiritually, I would like to read the Bible more and meditate on it's words. Psychologically I want to improve in time management and push forward to success. The relaxation exercise was frustrating because it took so long! It needs more music and less talking. This exercise could be fit into my morning routine if I just played soft music in the backround. I would like to do yoga and include my daughters in it. Does anyone have suggestions to help me get my daughters started? See you around! ~Julia:)

Welcome to my blog!

Hello my friends!
I hope you enjoy joining me to discuss the wonderful world of the mind. How does the mind work for us. Do we think in our brain or possibly our souls? This has been my thought that I have been pondering.
The mind is a truly powerful asset that we have in our lives. I enjoyed listening to the relaxation video that was shared and surprised how it worked. This is a great way to relax and I believe that you can also receive your healing in this manner. As a man thinks so is he. This statement is very true. When a person thinks positive on a consistent basis then that is what will be there reality and vise versa works the same way. We can control our bodies and our health more than what most people think that we can.
I am looking forward to hearing your feedback regarding the mind!
